🟢💔 Arrival & Initial Condition
Back in August, a rescue horse arrived in extremely poor condition following severe neglect.
He was:
- Severely underweight
- In poor body condition
- Shaking with fear on arrival
- Suffering from a respiratory infection
- Heavily compromised immune system
A veterinary assessment was carried out immediately. The attending vet confirmed this was one of the most severe neglect cases seen locally.
He was started on antibiotics and placed under close veterinary supervision.
For the first period in his new home, he refused to leave his stable due to fear and lack of confidence.
🟢 Initial Management & Support
Alongside veterinary treatment and careful management, a structured nutritional and gut support programme was introduced, including:
- EquiDigest Pro
- Hedgerow Immunity Plus
The aim was to support:
- Digestive function
- Immune system recovery
- Overall condition and resilience
🟣 Recovery Progress
Over the following 2 months, significant changes were observed:
- Weight gain of over 60kg
- Improved body condition and muscle tone
- Increased energy and strength
- Reduced fear responses
- Gradual improvement in confidence and handling
He is now becoming more curious, engaged, and enjoys human interaction such as grooming, attention, and treats.
